Weekly Hubs | activities, food, community

February 2026
Our weekly hubs in Guildford and Redhill are central to how we build a safe and welcoming community for displaced young people in Surrey. We play games, create art, and there is always space to talk to one of our caseworkers for individual support.

Over the years our hubs have grown and changed as young people who have settled in the community welcome and support those who are newly arrived.

“The hub is important because it gives people a place to gather, make friends and feel part of something larger... it’s a holding space for people to feel not just seen, but heard. It’s an inclusive environment where people are free to come as they are and be treated with respect... and where everyone can hold a sense of belonging.” RM

Food is an important part of each session and young people often bring recipes and ideas to cook alongside our team. Sharing meals helps build trust and connection and creates time for conversations about what is happening in the world and how it affects them.

We are mindful of the pressures young people face, from ongoing conflicts that feel close to home to the impact of misleading information online and the uncertainty created by policy changes. Our hubs offer a space to talk openly about these issues, learn about staying safe online and feel supported and informed. Above all, they are a place to feel connected and part of a community.
