Our brilliant Music Connects group performed in the 'Under the Same Sun' premiere at Union Chapel London, celebrating Refugee Week 2022.
We are continually impressed by the passion, dedication and care for one another shown by participants of our Music Connects projects. Performing to a full house at a venue as famous as Union Chapel is no mean feat, but these young people took it all in their stride.
Young people, some forcibly displaced and some local to Surrey, came together to write and perform 'Find My Way.' The track celebrates the cultural and linguistic differences that could be seen as barriers, exploring themes of overcoming adversity through hope and determination. The young people choreographed the dance performance and brought the audience to their feet.
'Under the Same Sun,' featured hundreds of performers onstage to celebrate the theme of Refugee Week 2022, 'Healing', through music and song. We were incredibly moved by the talent and message of all the performers and extremely proud of the young people we support.
